JVC KD-NX5000 Nav/headunit
Just installed mine
Picked it up this morning from Super Autobacs for 600$ + the JVC ipod adapter + the evo specific harness.
Installed right when I got home, took about 3 hours, learned how to solder and all that. Install itself was pretty straightforward
For everybody who's wondering how to watch videos all the time its simple with any video system. The wire that runs to the parking brake, GROUND IT.
Ive watched some of a DVD, listened to my ipod, radio, its all good. GPS is not though. It never stops saying "calibrating." I couldnt figure out what to do about it. It says connect a pink wire to my speedo wire which is black with yellow stripe I believe, but I did that and then the system doesnt even start, like its getting no power...See I had my pink wire connected to a red wire and I think thats where it was getting power...I dont have a red to connect to red though. Could somebody who's installed it shed some light on this?
Otherwise, the buttons and navigation through the menus takes a little getting used to, its good to just stop for 10 minutes and learn so youre not doing it on the road. After that though Its really good. I definately recommend it.

can we get some photos of it installed in the radio relocation location under the AIR controls.
Crutchfield says it will fit but not the AVX-44J but it looks to be the same size to me:
