Do you install it underneath or in the original factory spot? Do you think it would fit underneath?

 

I installed it in the original radio location. I considered moving it to the lower cubby hole at one point in time, but decided against it after looking at the mess I'd have to deal with behind the console. To be honest, I'm not sure it will even fit in the lower cubby if you use the bezel. I will check though on my way home from work.

 

Sorry to go slightly OT, but I have this installed in my car. It looks almost exactly the same as the install on the first page. I'm not sure why Crutchfield said it wouldn't fit. I just don't use the metal sleeve that came with it. The plastic removal trim is necessary though.
