Voltex Diffuser question.

I've got a Voltex rear diffuser on it's way and an HKS Super Turbo exhaust on my Evo IX. Two questions I guess.

1. Should I put the diffuser on the jdm rear bumper before or after I put it on the car?

2. If I have to cut the diffuser to make the exhaust fit, what 's the best thing to cut carbon fiber with? I paid a lot of monet for the jdm bumper and voltex diffuser, so I want to do it right. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

1. Your should install the diffuser after you install the bumper IMHO so that you do not scratch it during assembly and it will be easier to guarantee proper fitment.

2. You should use a brand new razor blade to make any necessary cuts. Just remember measure twice, cut once.

make sure the diffuser is far enough away from the muffler to prevent it from melting it also. this will be used on the street??? good luck

I think you will find a cutoff wheel on a dremel to be much easier than a blade, however a blade might be neater. Just make many passes with a light touch.
I'd never have the patience, and just hack it off with a dremel. when you are done run a sanding board over the cut edge with some 180 grit or so to make it less lethal.

Yeah, I'm gonna use it on the street, but we have pretty good roads here in Delaware. I'm gonna try the razor first. I used a dremmel bit on my cf trunk and it worked ok, but the bottom of the trunk didn't look like cf, more like fiberglass. I appreciate the feedback everybody, and I'll post pics when It's finished.

I'd hate to have to do all that. I'll guess I'll see when it comes in.

1) install the jdm rear bumper first

2) install the exhaust and check for clearance

3) test fit the rear diffuser and make neccessary adjustments.

1 hour 46min. I couldn't have done it without the how2 section. Ok, I could've, but that whole bending the brackets thing was complicated without having pics to use as reference. The jdm bumper is on, now waiting on the diffuser.

Yeah, it's called speedelement.com. Hopefully I'll have it in a week. I'll put pics up. Speaking of the Voltex diffuser, did you guys see it on the cover of the new Import Tuner. JDM evoIX? Anyway, thanks again for the help everyone with my questions. I'm sure I'll have more next week.lol
