Alpine has a nice iPod interface, I have a CDA-9857 (last year model)
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-iYKz3bs...57&search=9857
and it came with a cable that plugs the iPod right into the back of the receiver. It keeps the iPod charged and sends the music directly to the unit. You can control the iPod right from the front of the Alpine. Just put the iPod in your glove box out of site and cable to it.
Works great.

Here is the one he is talking about:

I have bought many things from Crutchfield and recommend them.
All the mounting and wire harness adapters are included free with your stereo purchase. They also have a great return policy, 30 day money-back if your not satisfied.

Come to think of it, Clarion has a pretty slick iPod integration. But, that's on their double din unit. I would say, in order of best to worst, here's the list:

1. Alpine
2. Clarion
3. Pioneer
4. Kenwood
5. Eclipse
6. Dual, Jensen, Panasonic, etc.

If you don't want to spend too much money then get the Alpine 9870 model. I bought one from BB for 119 bones, $30 for the Ipod cable and $12 for the harness. Took me 20 minutes to get everything in and it works great. You can control the music from the headunit and the cable keeps the Ipod charged.

Yeah I actually have the model before CDA-9857, which works really well. Being able to scroll through your ipod on the head unit is great. I'm able to store my ipod in the glove compartment while driving. (The cord comes right into the glove compartment). Very good stuff.

wait crutchfield is reasonable? what are you smoking????

if your a shopper w/ a brain, you can found better prices on ebay (yes new units)....

ebay is not great for 'just out' models but anything that has been out for 6+ month is great on ebay. LEARN! hehe
