Best Alarm Period... Help me please

Hey All,

I just bought a 2004 Evo VIII with about 12k in mods from AMS... with the stock alarm! This alarm absolutely sucks, it does not even go off if you leave the window open and pull the handle with the car locked... Wtf? Haha.

What alarm is the absolute best for this car? I would like to have a camera that somehow rotates? I am still in school and I do not want anyone to key the car and get away with it at all... Video evidence=perfect. I do not mind the cost and I get a very very cheap installation too, nearly free.

Thank you,

TJ

Just go with a viper/python/clifford 2 way paging alarm with prox sensors and the like. That is about the best you can get. I think a camera wouldhave to be custom... i don't think any alarm has that standard???

I remember seeing an alarm system with a camera but it was fixed. If your alarm went off it would snap some pictures and send them to your pager. I am pretty sure the one I saw was the one in the link below. Pretty cool but you cant go wrong with DEI alarms.

Well for one an Evo does not have an alarm stock...its keyless entry. Also as far as best alarm, I believe the Compstar P2W9000FMR is a very good one but it does cost the $$$$

You can only really buy them from Authorized stores. The headquarters I believe is in Kent WA (about 50miles from me ) but they can sell them direct I believe.

Well as far as I can tell maybe they dont sell to other vendors anymore. If you go to their page they are the only "Dealer" that sell their alarms. So you most likely have to buy directly from them. Also any other dealer is going to charge MSRP on the alarm anyways so you most likely wont be paying anymore.

Authorized stores are exactly that, authorized stores. BB and CC do not carry them to my knowledge.

Your local car stereo shop would be the place to start.

Well this is what happened to my car overnight, parked right in front of my house I didn't know the Evo did not come with an alarm from the factory, I mean it's pretty pricey car. I need to get something with proximity sensors, motion detectors, and possibly window breaking sensors.
