Race cars, IME have never had alarms... But who the hell cares, that's what insurance pays for and its one of the main reasons our insurance is so high, so you might as well use the part of insurance that doesn't raise your rate. Mine got broken into, every single thing (including the scratched door panel, which was expensive) got replaced

Well, my car is still at the shop...bastards. The window set me back a few hundred and the door card was $400 from the dealer

Yeah, I'm glad that insurance will cover everything and that my rates will not increase, but it still sucks and now I'll be paranoid about leaving my car anywhere.

So I got a quote for the Compustar alarm:

Model: P2W900FM-A = $450
Hood Open Sensor = $35
Trunk Open Sensor = $35
Perimeter Sensor = $95
Glass Break Sensor = $45

TOTAL (installed) = $660

Now there is another model that is $350...2WSHLED, which has less features but you still have to add the other sensor I listed above.

Any advise is appreciated because this will be a fairly large purchase and I honestly hate that I cannot get handling or power mods instead...or even buy more turbo bits for my 240

I've always loved clifford in the past...but with DEI and all this compition around. Sometimes I would just rather integrate a motion detector and shock sensor with the factory alarm until something else comes out like back in the real clifford days Good post though

They are robbing you. The hood pin is supplied with almost all alarm systems. And for the trunk, you run a wire back to the trunk light. Why are they charging you for those two extra sensors? I know Best Buy and Circuit City pull these stunts all the time.

Why do you and others still believe there is a factory alarm on these cars. There is no factory alarm. There are alarms out now that are miles ahead of the older Clifford items. And some of Clifford's offereings are exclusive and not shared with the rest of the DEI lineup.

hahaha pwnd.....

bring it to me at Cartoys so i can overcharge the hell out of you! although i can guarantee if you know what you're looking for we can get you the best alarm possible. anyways, DEI alarms FTW python, viper, clifford all have pretty much the same alarm system, you just pay extra for more features and capabilities.

i personally have the python 990 alarm system on my car, works great, 1-mile range is awesome

Subaru, looking at the pictures you posted looks like the thieves took about everything they could. That really sucks. I never heard of anything taking a bumper before.
