Aftermarket alarm?

Anyone have one in their car? If you push the unlock button on the door handle....does it disable the aftermarket alarm? Im curious to know this question.

Ill probably end up getting the Viper 5901 and just have the alarm portion of it hooked up. I dont need a remote starter. Viper doesnt have any 1 mile range alarms without remote starters.....thats why I would have to buy something like this. I will be installing this myself since I am a professional at it. Just never installed an alarm on an Evo.

Well I just ordered a Viper 5901 and Xpresskit XK09. I could install the alarm without the XK09, but it will be alot easier integrating it with the factory options. I wont be hooking up the remote starter because I had one before on my old car and didnt use it that much. Im not sure if ill be driving it in the winter time or not. Ill update on how the install works out.

Update- I installed the Viper 5901 and XK09. Took about 2 hours to do in the heat. Like I said before, I didnt hook up the remote starter part of it. The XK09 module made everything easy and I didnt have to hook up many wires. This is what I would recommend for anyone else.

I went with a remote start viper without security and had voice module hooked to doors. If you use the cars comfort access it will trigger a door violation warning. In the end I disabled the warning messages. The door comfort access bypassed the security. Of course if you had a remote start + security model you may have different results than I did.

All of those are the XK09. Its just different pictures of it. Im not 100% sure, but the XK09 "might" need to be programmed. If you dont have the USB tool for programming, you wont be able to do it. If you dont want to buy it, maybe a local shop would program it for you.

i just bought a 2005 lancer evo 8 so obviously i am a newbie at this hope you guys can help me out i want to install a remote starter but dont know where to start what to get. i dont really care if it has an aftermarket alarm but i would take it. i live in northern PA so it would be nice to have in the winter although i wont be using the EVO as a DD in the winter but also in the summer to have the AC going would be awesome. is it worth getting if so what to get? i wasnt sure it was even possible due to being standard but from above its obviously possible. thank you
