I have alpine MRP-M650 running one 12 inch IDMAX dual 4ohm woofer. The amp is turned up to the max lol. Was told the amp cant hang but it sure bumps hard!
When you say baby computer fan how small is it? Got a link to how it looks like and how did you hook it up? Stupid question but it only turns on when the amp is on right?

If it blows oh wells lol

I never turn the gain on my amp to the max. Also, the size of the fan depends on the size of the amp. For Audison amps in low ventillation situations, my buddies use a couple of the tiny processor fans to blow directly into the side vents of the amps. For the older RF stuff (because they get hot enough to cook an egg and bacon cheese sandwich), I have seen people use the bigger fans that cool the computer power supply. Any Bestbuy of Radio Shack should have the fans. And yes they usually turn on with the remote wire. they can also be connected to manual toggle switches or thermal switches.

By the way, the B-Quiet that I installed does NOT smell one bit. I was surprised since most sound deadening materials stink pretty bad (e.g., Fatmat).

wish i can see some pics on evos for b-quiet.... i dont mind adding 20 lbs of weight since i can simply then remove my spare tire. if it reduces the noise noticable atleast i will definetly do it in the trunk

I'll post pics of my B-Quiet install. Stuff weighs 37lbs for 100sq.ft. (more than enough to do your entire car). I used about 60 sq.ft. to do my entire trunk and all four doors. So, only added like 22lbs of weight. The car is much quieter now. So, I think it works great.

I didn't drive around with just the trunk done, but I think it would make a difference in the level of exhaust noise in the car and would definitely quiet any rattles from a subwoofer. I did my doors too because I'm putting some really nice JL Audio ZR650 components in the front doors. Want them to sound as perfect as they can

Good lord! That box is big. Bet it sounds amazing! Just remove the spare tire and the weight of the dynamat/b-quiet/etc will be balanced out.

Will dynamat work as a mounting ring or speaker baffle? I have a pair of mid bass drivers (Kenwood) on the rear deck but they are slightly smaller in diameter than the mounting hole (so there's a bit of a gap). I'd like to seal this gap with either dynamat or a baffle (cut off the cup, use the upper portion only). I have a "free air" bass application - no subwoofer (don't want the added weight). Thanks in advance.

Dynamat won't work alone. It's too flimsy. You'll still need a baffle (1/4" wood or hard ABS plastic or metal would work fine). You could cover the baffle in dynamat to make sure it doesn't resonate and ruin the sound of the speaker. Fabricate the baffle, mount it to the existing speaker hole. Seal it up with silicone. Wrap some dynamat around it. Then mount your speaker to it. Shouldn't cost much and you can get all the stuff at Home Depot or Lowe's.

Pics

As promised...here are the pics of my trunk with B-Quiet Sorry guys, but I didn't feel like taking the entire trunk apart to show you everything I did. Just imagine that the two strut towers are completely covered. I also removed the washer fluid bottle and got my hands back there and put some on the outer sheet metal as well. Same goes for the opposite side of the trunk. I pretty much covered anything that was metal

Keep in mind that this won't make a GIGANTIC difference in noise. My exhaust is quieter and road noise is quieter...but I can still hear both. Especially the road noise...but that's primarily from the front tires (still have stock Advans on and those mothers are noisy). Overall, my car is quieter and the trunk will not vibrate on bit once I get my JL Audio 12W6 installed

I thought, when I installed my system, my RS was going to rattle like a b****. I have had similar systems in three other cars all of which rattled. In my RS, not a sound. No dynamat or anything which leads me to think the rattles come the wing or other GSR, MR add-ons.

g/l on your quest for rattle free tunes
