Same goes for the opposite side of the trunk. I pretty much covered anything that was metal

Keep in mind that this won't make a GIGANTIC difference in noise. My exhaust is quieter and road noise is quieter...but I can still hear both. Especially the road noise...but that's primarily from the front tires (still have stock Advans on and those mothers are noisy). Overall, my car is quieter and the trunk will not vibrate on bit once I get my JL Audio 12W6 installed

Trunk lid

Driver's side

Behind rear seat

Spare tire well

Passenger side (w/SSL subwoofer)

Thats a clean install and the woofer location is nice..

I was thinking about dynamatting my trunk, but I don't think I'm going to install a sub at this time.

Yeah, to those wanting to quiet the car, you would want to dynamat the doors. If you only dynamat the trunk, you probably won't notice a difference in road noise, at least not enough to compensate for the cost or additional weight. IMO the only reason to dynamat a trunk would be to reduce the rattle of subwoofers!

+1...I did my doors (both outer sheet metal and inner door frame) as well as the trunk. I'll post some pics of my doors when I install my speakers in the coming days.

If I wasn't putting a nice system in my car I wouldn't have done any sound deadening. But, since I'm spending the money on a system I want it to sound good and Dynamat (or equivalent) is one of the best things you can do to have a great sounding system

for my system I did the trunk lid (this was the biggest area of rattle. and a little no the floor. I also did both front doors pretty well.

Since I track my car I wanted as little as needed so I slowly added until on rattles.

has anyone ever done their floors to get rid of road noise? im not thinking of doing this i just think if that was your goal then the floor would help a lot.

im getting a 10w3 but i might end up waiting and going for a 10w7 then ill really hace to worry about rattles.

Might be surprised at the results.

Second Skin Damplifier and Damplifier Pro came out at the top. Not bad in price either.
