powered sub
powered sub
Hey guys,
I'm getting into a bit of tracking and autox but still really miss the sound I had in my old car. I was thinking of getting one of the self-powered subs that infinity makes or alpine or bazooka tubes, but wanted to get some thoughts first. I'm looking to keep it easy to put in and take out, and would ideally not like to give up trunk space, so either under a seat (which i think is too tight) or mounted to the rear seat cross brace.
Although if i get a lot of people saying the self-powered ones are crap, I may just go the route of sub and amp and just make it simple.

Car Audio & Electronics had a pretty favorable review about the Alpine PLV-7 powered subwoofer.

I've heard the Infinity Basslink and I wasn't impressed...but that's just my opinion.
I had a Bazooka tube in a previous car several years ago and it was OK. Didn't take up much space, but the bass was probably just barely average.
The best option is always separate sub with proper box and amplifier, but if you don't want to head that route, you could check out that Alpine subwoofer. If you don't like it, just return it.

That thing seems to have gotten a great review.... very interesting. I'm going to look up the price, but i think it's got to be more expensive than most powered subs.
