LC-1 erradict readings

Hello installed my LC-1, got a brand new sensor for it, calibrated correctly, red light shows correct functionality and the damn things readings are all crazy, randomly goes back and forth, never settles on 14.7 or 14.9, seems to like 15.1 but only for a sec or 2 then drops to 10 goes to 20 etc etc, i do have it grounded to the frame though, anyone seen this before? do i need to run the ground to the block ?

follow the instructions of grounding very carefully.. what are you using to read the afr? the original logworks or mitsuloger or evoscan?

mine does the same erratic reading on mitsulogger, is perfect showing the right afr's instanteous on logworks and works right on evoscan...

let it at least work right on logworks without having the tactrix pluged in, then you analyze ur pbms one by one...

logworks 2 is what I am referring to, i havent tried it with the tactrix unplugged yet as I have a CARPC which is always plugged into the tactrix, i will run a wire from the block into the cabin from the ground as it suggests to see if that helps. ill also see how evoscan does with it....

OK so i ran an 8 gauge ground from engine block into the cabin to a terminal block and separately connected all of the grounds (blue, white, light green since i have 7 wire, ground from display) all to the distribution terminal. these are separate connectors to a shared block as suggested.

still, my a/f in my carpc in logworks 2 is erradict as hell and jumping around.

can an exhaust leak cause this? maybe the power line and not the ground?

driving me crazy

I just installed mine too and according to the manual for the gauge, it said to connect it to the brown analog output. I have the 6 wire one though.

after looking at the service manual, i dont think it is nessesary to ground to the block. The ECM [ecu] is connected to the grounding sysytem in the car, which in turn is connected to both the frame and engine. So is the odbii port.

I also am having the exact same issue as you. Im going to go home, pop out the sensor, and recalibrate to see if thats the problem.

When you calibrated was it in open air? I am sure you did but I'm just checking as this will definitely cause the gauge to act like you are describing.

i did calibrate it in open air, but i accidently hit the calibrate button again last night while it was in the pipe. It hasnt worked properly since the install, but here's to hoping my woes disappear after tonight.

i did resolve the random output issue after free air re-calibrating... but i'm still getting erradict spiking thruout the entire log..

the .log in the zip file is my drive to work this morning. Next step i guess, is to re- ground everything... again..

yeah actually, i recal'd open air, now this is after running the little ground block I showed you AND i ran 12v from the battery, and used a relay being opened with the accessory power to activate.

so its 100% clean power now, i used a voltmeter to watch it while cranking, revving, turning lights and accessories on and off, its clean now.

then i open air recal'd and its ok now. its still not as stable as I would like, i had it on the dyno on friday and the LC-1 is NOT as accurate nor as stable as the DYNO a/f meter using an NTK sensor system.
