Where did you mount the sirius antenna?

There will be a 12v trigger wire to show the camera input onto the screen. Do you have that wired up correctly?

EDIT: waiting for this "march 08" http://stereos.about.com/od/mobileaudio/p/DNX-8120.htm

I'm glad that it worked out fine.. I remember I took the battery out of my car when I installed my clutch, so I was breaking my head why the camera wasn't coming on when I put it in reverse. I thought someone had broken something. I started playing with the options and saw it in the menu and waala, we were back in business!!

Hey, I'm curious about something, in the Navi you can get the unit to tell you where traffic is. Like if you want to go a route, you can tell it to avoid traffic and it will do that by using the sat. radio. So now that you have that, I'm curious to see how it works and if it does work, so if it is worth it, I might just get it.

Is there a subscription you have to do for the Sat radio? or is it free? just wondering, I never had one before...

Kenwood updates/ download area

I haven't done any of the updated maps, but I really would like too. I wonder how detailed they are from what I have now, meaning I would hate to buy it and see it not have what I was looking for. The new maps I think are like $130 or so I think I once saw on their website a while back.

I reasearched the traffic a bit.... You can get it through a Garmin GTM10 which is just an FM reciever to get Traffic updates. Also you can use XM NavTraffic which gives you Stock ticker, weather, and traffic. Same amount of coverage, i believe using the FM is cheaper since you have sirius. Xm might come in cheaper if you already were subscribing to xm satellite radio.

i put a switch in to bypass the ebrake when needed, i was gonna hide it and tuck it away as it wont be used to much but i decided to make one place it in one of the dummy switches, nothing to fancy. may remove it and resand and paint later on.

We have both of those units where I work the nav on the dnx7100 is easier to use and the ipod interface is nicer but the d3 is more bang for the buck and the actual menus are easier to navigate through. Pm me with any questions. Or shoot me an email. see sig

Last week I picked up a Kenwood DNX-7100 to replace my older DDX-6019. (The price was right, and I sold the old one. Only ended up costing me $180 to upgrade from a 2005 model.)

This unit rocks, plain and simple. The menus are not as difficult to navigate as people make them out to be. Within a day or two its second nature. The navigation system is easy to use and very responsive. If you have an iPod, get the high speed cable. You will be glad you did. On screen iPod navigation is identical to the unit itself so its really easy to use. I can play the videos on my iPod as well, you couldn't do that on the older models.

Overall, I would call it a great unit. I just have one little question - why wire the parking brake wire to an on/off switch? (as opposed to just grounding it out so its on constantly?)

i figured just incase in get in an accident and the insurance decides to check it out, if they saw that it played while driving im guessing it voids it and they dont pay, or if i get pulled over or something. i dont expect/hope to ever have to use it, its just a "just in case" thing
