Obd2 Port!?

I threw a check engine code recently and I tried to plug in a scanner but had no luck. Aparantly there is no power going to the port. Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone? Thanks.

use a test light and check the obd connecter for power. one of the pin will have power. i think it is the number 16 pin but i'm not sure. also check all your fuses.
