Rocky mountain RMR-C450-6 radar detector

Is this radar detector worth getting over a bell RX65? It has a laser/radar jammer built in but I don't know Never heard of them, are they junk?

Not an answer to your question...I would stick with the more well known ones such as the old but good passport 8500 or valentine 1. It's been 4 years since I aquired the evo and still not one speeding ticket with the 8500. FWIW, ebay saves you a bundle when it comes to items like these. Just make sure it's still sealed.

Complete and total junk. Search around on the web. In fact, I think there may have been a class action lawsuit against them for false advertising.

Definitely can vouch for the 8500. Mine may be couple years old but still does the job and never had 1 single problem with it.

Nothing by RMR or Rocky Mountain Radar will jam laser or radar and their radar detection sucks.

Look how poorly a RMR detector performed at the latest independent unbiased radar detector test.

Yea, I figured it prob wasn't very good. Down to the 8500 or the RX65 I like the look of the 8500 and am leaning on that one but so many reports of them getting flaky. The RX65 seems very solid but looks bulky nor do I like the button set-up. Really want a detector though, as every bit helps and not speeding from time to time in a Evo is near impossible. I'm going to sleep on this one...

Get a Valentine One because you can sell a 4 year old V1 on ebay and get between $300-$400 because it hold its value so well.

I have the older Passport 8500 and it saved me from at least 2 tickets yesterday driving from Atlanta, GA. to NC. I just got the thing a few weeks ago and it does it's job admirably. You dont really need the POP function and I have the Laser mode turned off.

Yeah even with the laser unless you have it mounted really low, by the time you get the alert, your screwd.

Ive had my V1 for 4yrs ish, really good. If they upgrade it you send it back to them and just pay the difference of a new one from your last one.
I call them to check and they were pretty cool, they have an upgrade but living in Fl the cops are not using this new typer of laser yet so they tolf me its best to wait. i like an honest company.

I've had my Passport X50 for over 2 years and I have no complaints at all! I love it. Its saved my a$$ more than once. When I get my new car this summer I will be passing the X50 onto my bro-in-law in favor of the V1 with Pop2. Both great units. Depends on your budget.

I picked up a Bell 955, though not as good as picking up laser than the RX65, it detects all the other bands about as well. I have been told by everyone that has a radar detector that if and when you have a laser alert it's too late and would be better off using a laser jammer along with the 955. One guy told me a sharp eye on the road ahead is better than using a detector when it comes to laser Not running a front plate helps to
