I just bought new pioneer TS-A1682S speakers and am looking to install them anyone have any tips removing the front and back speakers? i cant seem to find a thread about removing them thanks.

 

heres a How-to for an RS, The only differnce is you have power windows..Pull up on the window swith base then dissconnect the wires..then once you get the speaker out you have to cut the stock harness off and splice it into the new speakers..Btw i hope you have the brackets to mount these..

 

For the back speakers just unscrew the grilles from the trunk and take out the speakers from above. For brackets I just traced the factory speaker (cut off the foam ring on the front so you can lay it face down) onto 1/4" mdf and cut it out with a jig saw. Then cut the speaker holes for your new speakers.

I'm actually replacing my speakers right now. I could only get one side done tonight. I plan on doing the other side tomorrow. I will take pics and post them if you need more help.

 

Instead of cutting off the stock speaker harnesses and splicing into the new speakers, you could pick up some speaker harnesses that would plug right into your stock harnesses. It'll make your speaker installs just plug and play. I got mines from Crutchfield.com for 12 bucks plus shipping per pair. Pick up 2 pairs and you're set.

 

were the harness ones for a "toyota"? Cause thats all what would come up when I looked...

 

Yes they were labeled "Toyota" when I bought them. But as long as you chose "(year) Lancer" for the vehicle selector filter before you order them, they will fit.
