I was curious as to where you all are getting your power and ground sources for your LC-1 installs? Pictures would be mighty helpful!

 

mine is not grounded to the chassis. I dont have pictures but on the passenger side theres a bolt in the center console about where there left foot would be. Havent had any issues

For the power - some people says pull power from the cig-lighter.. I'm sure it can be grounded there as well.

 

The LC-1 guys (innovate) recommend grounding to the block, which I did. Works flawlessly.

 

If i remember correctly, it should be grounded as close to the ECU as possible. I even thought about getting a ECU patch harness and pulling both power AND ground from there. Any thoughts?

 

sorry just saw the power part. I have my power going to my LC1 from my ebc

 

What would be the reasoning for this? Where does your ECU get its power from?

The power and gnd from the ECU harness would be a good source. I am personally using the sources from my gauges which = stereo (in both my cars)

If you're looking for the shortest power and gnd in my opinion would be the battery. Block is always a nice solid gnd, seems reasonable. Ignition is another good source.

IMO, power is power and gnd is gnd, if both are solid the unit should work flawlessly, it doesn't pull alot of amps.

"5. The BLUE and WHITE wires should all be grounded to the same ground source.
Optimally, these (and any other MTS device ground) will be soldered to the same lug, and
connected to a single point. When this isn’t possible, connect each one to a separate lug,
and attach in close proximity. Multiple lugs on the same bolt is not optimal, and can result in
unwanted signal “noise.” When possible, soldering is always better than crimping."
