PAC TR-7 Install Questions (Alpine IVA-D105 Screen Bypass)
I am going to be installing a Alpine IVA D-105 and running a PAC TR-7 for my bypass module. I was hoping someone that has installed one previously would be able to lend a hand. I am wondering what power source they chose for the PAC? Also, did you ground to PAC to the same site as the D-105? Did you reccomend any certain power source over another? The instructions call for a power source that is 12 volt hot only when the ignition is on ( normally an accessory connection). Any other issues / techniques / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
bcuz of the sensitivity of these newer devices, i would ground the units separately. u could tap into the E-brake power line if it's not already being used by a turbotimer, CEL fix, etc. also i would keep grounds apart as well.
my rule of thumb is use 1power/1ground for EACH device u install with the exception of a multi-amp install in which case u could use a Dist block for ur 12v power.

I am running my turbo timer on a harness (thank goodness,). Which one is the e-brake power line, and how easy is it to tap (will i need a longer power lead to reach it, or is it accesible behind the console, ashtray, lower cubby)? thanks for the input.

when you say I wont have to go anywhere else, are you referring to the power tap for the tr7? I am still unsure as to the best spot to run the power to the tr7 from. Any suggestions as to where behind the radio I am to be running power from for the bypass module? thanks
From Pac: connect the GREEN wire to the Alpine’s remote wire, the
BLUE wire to the Alpine’s foot brake input wire, the WHITE wire to the Alpine’s parking
brake input wire. In this configuration, relays are not needed. Do not connect any other
sources to the WHITE or BLUE wires of the TR-7. Connect the RED wire to vehicle’s
accessory 12v. Note: This feature is factory set. Keep switch to off position and
wire according to above. No programming is neccessary unless changed.

Translation: Simply connect the TR7's green wire to the alpine blue wire, TR7's red to alpine red, TR7's black to alpine black, the TR7's blue wire to alpine yellow/black, and the TR7's white to the alpine yellow/blue. Its already programed for the alpine bypass so no need to do anything else, your done! Its really easy.

I am actually planning ahead, so the install is not set to go off until the 4th or 5th of January (possibly the 1rst if no hangover is involved!). I guess we'll have to see,....in the mean time,...it looks as if we, (YtDiamond05) are somewhat neighbors,...I'm one county over in Fairfax. I don't think I've seen your evo around (I'm not in Mannassas that often), but I have caught a glimpse of a sweet non-stock WW o6 near East Falls Church metro. Do you frequent that area at all? Anyhow, let me know if you are ever doing any mods and if you may need a hand, I'll be around. Email in profile,....CYA
Not me in Falls Church. Ill keep that in mind if I need a hand, same goes to you. Im in Fairfax all the time for school (Mason) so I will probably see you around, if I havnt alrealdy.
