Recommend Me a HeadUnit - Red Face, Dials and USB-HDD

I am looking into getting a headunit for the Evo.

I would like something plug and play that will play the radio, CD's, mp3's but most importantly, it must have a rear USB input for a hard drive. I have a 60GB USB HDD I would like to D/L music to and access via the head unit.

I relocated my unit where the guages used to be, so no flip ups.

I want the face to be able to be red. Pioneer, JBL or anything good.

Please recommend me something all you audio gurus. I tend to not be big in this, but recently am curious what is out there and what some experts recommend.

Thanks!

JVC sells a single din unit under their "Arsenal" brand. 3.5 inch screen, plays DVD's on the go, and has all the goodies. Check it out on onlinecarstereo.com --- and the most important thing is it's backlit in red.

I love my iDA-X001 on my Porsche... Thing plays my ipod like it was my ipod. And it plays usb drives pretty well as well. And as with most, you can change your display. I always keep my stereo an opposite color than my normal gauges... So blue in the Evo, blue in the Porsche.

Why opposite color, isn't it counter-intuitive, or do you have some reason for it?

I bought mine since it was strickly a Ipod head unit. It plays my ipod better than my Kenwood headunit with the kenwood ipod cable I had in my Integra.

Well... yeah, it is counter-intuitive... And it probably looks worse to everyone else but to me:

A) The Evo's orange is too harsh an orange, I was planning on changing out the dash... And I already had Defi gauges that matched the orange. So the buttons and background on my old unit in the Evo were roughly the same color as the projection from the VSD HUD and the two defi control units' buttons. Gave a little contrast so I wasn't bathed in orange light.

B) The Porsche's "orange" is not as harsh, but you can tell that it is from the 90s, its kind of a pale orange, so it goes well with anything, the bright blue (IMO) is a nice compliment to the bland orange.

The color I had the Evo set up with matched with other stuff in the car, the blue in the Porsche doesn't at all really, but it doesn't clash either... And it brings a bit of the 21st century into the car.

I bought the x001 a year ago and love it. Have it set to Red and use a 5th gen 80 gig ipod. Sometimes I have to reboot the ipod due to a "ipod error" but for the most part it works like a charm. It's nice to not have cd's all over the car.
