Remote Start Issue

Let me start off by saying the the car hasn't gave me any problems. The problem is when I want to remote start the car. The car will start but it will run for about 5 seconds then it shuts off. Maybe once a week the car wont shut off after remote start. I don't know whats going on.

There are programmed times you can have your car run for. What type of alarm is it to begin with?

You should go to any competent stereo shop for some easy help. Or Google.

What is your car using to bypass the immobilizer? The Black Box? A Spare Key in the car?

Try leaving your parking and/or regular lights on before you shut off the car. I know it's weird, but that's how mine was programmed, maybe for safety, IDK...

You could try to reprogram the tach signal, that would be the easiest thing to do right off the bat.....

generally the evo's will not run for any period with the immbolizer not working. I would go with checking the tach such as boostedteg99 has sad. What system are you useing? Start car hold programming switch until led lights up and stays solid then release button. Sometimes people will cut down time and program voltage check instead of running a tach signal wire.

There is some good info there.

It sounds to me like it is a DEI product setup on voltage sense instead of tach.

We need to know the brand of system you have.

Thanks guys for all of your suggestions. It was the little black box where the spare key goes. I checked under the dash and realized the box wasn't at the same spot. It was tossed around and the key moved out of place. I repositioned the key and box and wallah! Back to normal.
P.S. I have an Avital two-way remote alarm.
