Someone please help!! Im working with a 2003 Evo 8 and recently the shock tower broke and the front passenger tire rubbed the wheel well. The oil filter hit the ground and snapped off(oil leaked everywhere! big mess) Got the parts to fix it and did so. I started the car up and it fired right away, but now when i turn the key off and the engine doesnt turn off and the dash lights stay on. I had to pull the neg terminal on the battery to shut it off. The car will not start now due to dead battery but still when you take the keys out of the ignition all the dash lights stay on!! The ignition wont shut off!! We tripple checked all the fuses and still the dash lights stay on! Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? We called AMS and there tech couldnt figure out whats going on. Please HELP!!

 

Id first check wires to see if any rubbed through... check all the areas, especially around the tire area where it snapped off and look for wires. Check both under the hood and in the wheel well.

 

So I we checked all wires in the wheel well and there was 1 that we had to fix. I got a new battery for the car to start up and we came across a weird problem. We put all the fuses in and the car wont start. We pulled fuse number 1 which is the ingition coils and now the car starts up and idles fine and runs fine. I dont get how that would work!!Can we drive the car with the fuse pulled, or will it cause damage to the motor?
