I hate to be a stick in the mud but why worry about weight savings when you have added so much weight to the car already for sound? It just seems like a lot of trouble to me for such a little gain and the worry of being left stranded.

The point of doing a small battery is not only for weight but also to do a intercooler pipe that has less bends and flows better.

I got a Memphis PR500 amp wired to a Directed Studio 12" at 2ohm... puts out about 350watts. Upgraded HO 190AMP alternator... and my lights flicker on ~80Hz bass...

What kind of mini battery is it?

I don't know why you'd want to get a mini battery. Everyone is cold climates is having problems with them starting when it's 1/2 cold out. Also, you're putting a lot of extra weight in already with subs/amp. I don't think a few pounds savings is worth it. I'd rather feel safer know that my car isn't going to struggle starting than getting that .004 sec faster track time

for everyone putting down mini batterys, most people buy them to run a shorter routed UICP, not for weight savings.

It is logical to not downgrade your battery when you install a high watt audio system, it's a trade off you have to make or relocate your battery to the trunk.
