CompuStar 2W900FMR problem

Hi all,

I have a CompuStar 2W900FMR alarm and recently after my car battery died the remote is acting up, when i arm the car the remote doesnt show that its locked and the same goes for anything else, it looks like its out of sync. I changed the remote battery and nothing, still the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this problem before i contact the dealer?

Thanks

Do you have a manual for the alarm??

If so, it will list instructions on reprogramming transmitters for the alarm... I would go through and try that..

If you dont have the alarm, I guess you could call the dealer.. I would just try to find the instructions online for reprogramming though- especially since you know what model you have !!!

with the key and the remote in hand, turn your key for 5X within a 7 sec period, on/off-on/off between acc and on. once you have done the step correctly, the parking lights will flash once. immediately after the 5th on/off and within the 7 sec time frame, press the I button of your remote. confirmation of a successful programming of your remote is the parking light will flash once. if it flashes twice, it means the programming was unsuccessful or you are past the 7 sec time frame. practice it in your mind before actually doing the steps.

I'll try that tonight and let you know if that worked.

Thanks a lot.

i tried the acc-on method that you mentioned and my remote still doesnt show anything when i lock the doors, i hear the doors lock and the alarm is on, but the remote doesnt show the lock, it shows that its unlocked. I guess i have to contact the dealer and see what he says.

Thanks for your help.

I called my dealer and he said to bring the remote in and he'll send it for repair, it took 2 weeks to get it back, when i picked it up the remote worked, when i got home and tried it again, its not working. I have the alarm for a year and i dont drive the car that much anywayz, 3-4 time a month. and the alarm remote is broken, very dissapointed in compustar. I guess i gotta pay for a new remote cause the warranty is only for 1 year.
