Ciggarette/ashtray lights not working

I just finished up my Zeitronix wideband install. Upon putting back all the interior panels and plugging in the clip that connects to ashtray bulb & ciggarette lighter bulb, the lights did not turn on. Though there was power running in the 12v charger.

I dont think the bulbs are burnt out because they were working prior to the Zeitronix install. Or are they? How can I find out?

They might have burned out. I've experienced something similar to your current situation a while back. I just replaced them with LED bulbs and they were fine, I can double check the manual to see if there a fuse controlling those lights as well.

Please let me know thanks. The situation puzzles me because all my interior lights work except for those two. If anything i will get replacemnt bulbs. I just bought the red condom covers for the bulbs.

Hey man you're better off with LED's in there. Those bulbs don't last long at all not even the replacement ones i got. LED's are like $4 each and they're brighter (better color definition) and last much longer.

bulb is blown out . its 124 bulb single wire. very common to go out once they are used as the filament is only support by one wire. excessive shock might have been the problem.

I would suggest going to an alarm/car audio shop for LED bulbs. I'm about to do that this weekend.

I actually went to Autozone to replace the two burnt out bulbs. It was only $3 and I covered them in dark red transparent tape. When illuminated, it gives off this nice dark red cherry color.

The ashtray and cig light bulbs you can buy at a local Kragens or Autozone. Just take the burnt one with you just in case to measure the correct size. Its cheap, $2-3 for a pair.
