Guys?? which radar detector is good for overseas asia/middle east laser and radar systems.
They use rear cameras with a blinding flash instead of the front type camera. I need a detector that will warn me ahead of time that cameras and radars are in close proximity. thanks!

I have had this since the speaker on my escort passport 8500 crapped out in 2003.
Had it upgraded/updated multiple times. They have amazing customer service!
The unit has paid for itself 4 times over and then some. I would easily have paid double for this knowing what I know now.

Well,
Webguy330 is the Man.
This works perfectly.
It turns on with the key and all you have to do is adjust volume or change settings.
It makes it so easy when you can leave it on all the time.

Just a matter of preference.
I have never felt that it was the proper execution when I know of other ways.
Typically when I splice, I take a razor blade and slit a wire sheath running parallel to the wire for about an inch. Then I trim out the sheath in between by ringing the razor around the wire on either end of my 1" split being careful not to cut the metal. Then spread the actual metal wire in half (never actually cutting the wire) to where it has a loop and thread my splice wire into the loop, pull tension on the target wire then solder the connection and wrap with electrical tape. If needed I zip-tie my splice wire to the target wire ensuring there will be no future disruption.
Then I take the razor and slit my wrist because I see someone has done a hack job by shoving something into the fuse box that doesn't belong. (If this is what you mean maybe you should find a razor)
If you mean finding a 12v lead by using my volt meter or wiring diagram to determine which wire to splice into. Then I would still have to properly splice into a wire so why not work do it the lazy man's way and sit in the comfort of a Recaro bucket than awkwardly splayed on my back half in the driver's floorboard.

I was just worried about the rear antenna not picking up as well with it that high.
They recommend keeping it level centered in the windshield...
I have no idea how it would actually effect things?
