Replacement for OEM Headunit

Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent replacement for the oem headunit? I just bought a radio relocation kit and I figured I might as well change it while it's out. I was preferably looking for a headunit that I could plug my Ipod into via USB, so if anyone has any recommendations/experiences

I had a flip out Pioneer radio that had a removable face. It had the connections for the Ipod, an you could get them for around $300 now. If you want just a CD player w/ AM/FM I would recomment the Alpine. I'll check which model # it is tomorrow.

I had Pioneer P80RS (USDM) in silver and was happy with that. After it was stolen I purchased Pioneer P88RS-2 (EDM) in black and is still happy. Looks very neat and is easily controllable without any need to lookat it (very nice ergonomics). You won't be disappointed if you go with something like that.

Alpine is the way to go, it is a standard equipped in some evo oversea. do not get double din if you dont have JDM climate control, those people who modify the climate control looks horrible and chessy.

i got a pioneer flip up and love mine. but if your doing a radio relocation kit then both the double and the flip wouldn't work. my friend just bought a new pioneer and relocated it, it looks sick too. i think the model line is premier maybe. whatever it is it looks good and has amazing sound. let me see if i can find what it is.

OP - Anything is better than stock!

I have this model, or the previous version in my truck. It does iPod connectivity very well, as well as mp3 off of CD. I think it also does wma as well.

In the Evo I have a flip-up Pioneer with nav. I think it is the Avic-N1, which is cheap on ebay these days (I've had it since buying the Evo). It doesn't sound like an option for you though, OP.

Alpine iDA-X305 plays ipods and usb drives no cd drive. I have the previous model and absolutely like it. There are also cheaper models without the color display.

I know this isn't the most flashy headunit, but seems like a good deal for the price:
