Mine burned out after about 2 months. Put the stocks back in, don't care anymore.

my strategy is plug and play, very easy to install and give off great light coverage. quick and easy, your stuff is totally custom and looks like a lot of work involved in some of it.

I ended up buying these lights, but I was disappointed. They are not very bright. Does anyone know of some brighter ones. I would also like a very bright dome led as well as map lights. If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.

I try to stay away from plug and play and use lights mounted to shine only in the direction that I want to see the light. LEDs are bright when your looking directly at the bulb, or if the bulb is shining at you. I've found when your trying to use an LED to shine into a reflector you don't get the best even lighting. I used defarmer69's plugin LEDs on my IX cluster and the only disappointing thing is that some areas near where the bulbs are slightly 'hotter' than the other areas. This is a typical problem with plugins.

L1224R's work great because the fiber optic tip shoots light back into the reflector.

When I did my ranger cluster a few years ago I was unhappy with the hot spots I had with the plugin LEDs in the stock locations. See:

I learned to use 360degree LEDs to make a circuit or individual circuits with resistors inline to place LEDs wherever I wanted, eliminating the hot spots with careful design.

Another problem I've run into on various clusters where the needles are semitransparent orange is that you can't get blue light to travel through semitransparent orange plastic. Orange and Blue are opposites on the color wheel:

I found a website that sells aftermarket needles (www.usspeedo.com) and bought transparent clear needles, with blue tips. I then thought it would be neat the paint the cluster body matched color, and also clearcoat it for that special shine. I also did the 'hats' for the needles.

i'm gunna try stay calm but the owner of that evo should be shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is UNACCEPTABLEEE to place such a volgure sticker on the rear windshield completly defacing the evo and making it completly useless!!!

haha kiddin but the LED lights on the licence plate are a nice touch if you have HID's as well, adds a little more intense light to the back as well as the front. I've had both on all my cars and love the look.

A regular 194 LED bulb that shines the light forward should work fine. The bulb is mounted at about a 30* but its pointed towards the license plate. These bulbs should be perfect; T10 1W High Power

Check out superbrightleds.com

They have great customer service at great prices. Plus their bulbs last for a really long time!
