HID problem

I just finished doing the DIY black housing headlight mod on my 03 evo and the driver side HID turns on then off about 2-3 seconds after i turn it on... just to make sure i checked the other headlight and everything was fine on it. i was very careful with removal and installation. Somone please help?

Check for loose connections or dirty connections. They are voltage sensitive. One can be pulling more amps in the system and the other will shut off. Ive seen this in aftermarket HID kits. Try swapping the bulb to the other side and see if that changes anything.

They use the ground points on the fender side of engine bay, check those. on my evo the passenger side one was flickering inconsistently but only turned out to be bad ground connection off that fender

cool thanks guys, the suggestions actually helped alot. the connectors we prolly a little dirty and the part of it being voltage sensitive was prolly what the problem was. thank you both

@ evo raul I had the same problem before after i did my headlight mod, turned out one of the connectors from the ballast to the HID bulb had some dirt in it and it totally melted the the plastic that connects to the bulb.

your problem might be a bad ground, bad ballast, or might even be the bulbs dieing out on you, but i kinda doubt its the bulbs.

did you do something to it recently or is it just acting up all of the sudden?

I have a similar problem, maybe I can get some help. When I first start my car and either my headlights auto-turn on or I turn them on, my Right side headlight turns off then flickers off. If I turn my headlights off then back on, both turn on and stay on. I only get this problem at initial start, any suggestions? I am going to be checking the grounds.
