New Head Unit

Hey guys,

I'm searching to upgrade my head unit in my evo 9 ssl
i just bought the adapter and harness for it but now the main thing. i need help with the head unit

it needs to have a usb port - must have
having bluetooth would be great but not important.
it has to be red led/lights - must have

i've been searching at the new new products from jvc, kenwood, pioneer and alphine. so far i really like this one but the txt is white so i'm wondering if the lightening might be wierd.

I recently upgraded mine and after much research, I needed something with the Front USB and Front AUX jack that was compatible with my Iphone. I also did not want to spend more than $150. This one is great. It has 2 rear outs for an AMP so that's a plus.

The pic that is on this link shows it in green color but it has like 10 different colors so you can change them on the fly and includes the color you are looking for.

I compared this to all others you mention and decided to stick with this one. Hope this helps. Sorry I do not have a pic of it on my car as of right now but click on the link or google it and you will get plenty.

My only gripe with this unit is that you have to get used to the controls... it has no buttons for stations per say so you have to push the included remote or push the up or down button on the unit to go to the next selected station once you set them up.

As for sound, this thing is just as good as any other unit I compared it to.

what's better though? the ida 100 or the 305? not the S (i dont have pandora)

i heard the 100 has low res album art and the 305 has better, that's the only diff. anything else?

so i did some searching on the 100 but cant find it for cheap anywhere

I did a quick search and didn't see any either. I would keep an eye on ebay I know I have seen them there for around $150. Good luck.

I have an Alpine CDA9856 in my Evo...pretty sold HU. You can get a full-speed connector for an ipod, and that allows you to control the music on your ipod through your HU.

I would stick with the alpine Ida series or a pioneer radio. If u really want Bluetooth, go with pioneer. Plus pioneers connections are on the front. I like my alpines I've had especially with the ports in the back. It gives a much cleaner look. My .02
