audio expert please help

an 2002 g20 with bose.

looking for better sound, louder, cleaner, crisper sound.

repalce the head unit, speakers or amp?

and why is it so exspense to get ipod hook up to a stock radio?

if i install any aftermarket headunit, will i have to do anything with the factory amp? and what should i look for buying a great sounding head unit?

i dont have an eq.if i find a radio with 6 pre outs, how does that work if it goes into the factory harness? how many rsm in the stock amp? i would not go to walmart. i want qualitiy. there are not man places around to actually listen to the cd player. so what numbers should i look at on internet. and good web pages to help me out or sell at a good price?

There is alot of know- especially since you have a g20 you may want to ask the g20 forums.

i have a alpine cda-9887 for sale and i'm in philly...which is a fantastic headunit with great sound quality.
all the features are in there like 3 way crossovers and time alignment!

i have been in the g20 forum. they are just into subs. not sound quality. does your alpine have ipod hook ups? and what does time alignment do?

You have two choices: you can learn about audio or you can look for a salesperson you trust who does know audio. The first option is the better bet.

Learn about audio. You will get what you pay for. Knowing what you pay for is the battle. Expect at least 1000.00 dollars for quality stuff with an install. Install on evo is simple though. The car comes apart with little hand tools.

Looking for louder, cleaner and tighter sound isnt really a very good description. Do you want crisper highs, punchier mids, or subs that will leave you shaking? Audio is subjective so you should listen to as many components as possible before deciding

Take youre favorite mix cd down to a few different shops and play with their settups. Go from there

I find it better to listen in car- especially the same car you have.

demo's in a shop floor do ALOT to mislead you, very well baffled and enclosed speakers, on axis response. things that are never perfect in the car environment.

time alignment is the ability to delay the signal of the left speakers so both sides reach your ears at the same time. it is a very awesome feature.

alpine is a great choice. i just upgraded my system ... i have the ssl, so im running the infinity amp and rear speakers. i upgraded my door and tweeters with the alpine sps-600 component set and an alpine cde-102 headunit. These are actually alpines cheaper line of products but they sound amazing. they are nice and crisp. i also installed my jl audio 500/1v2 amp and a 10w6v2. the complete system is great for all types of music. my friend is the manager at an audio shop and he recommended me to get the alpine components...
