The Alpine CDE headunit is a very great option...for the fact that it is a great price for the 50x4 watts it puts out...it just doesnt have all the bells and whistles of the top priced CDA unit.

It just depends on if your going to run your speakers off the headunit or that amp you have. I dont know about the G20 but us Evo owners that have the SSL package have to get an adapter cable that costs somethin like 40 bucks alone to use our stock amp.

I would suggest looking at amazon for audio components. You can find your audio equipment up to 50 bucks off and alot of it is free shipping.

Whats your budget? That will answer what kind of quality you can get... Dafarmer mentioned $1000. My sub costs that by itself...

yeah don't worry about the rear speakers - in fact i keep mine turned off.
the biggest issue with evo's is road noise and tweeter placement. The stock pillars put a tweeter behind plastic and in a 90 degree off axis pleacement directly firing at each other. alot of sound diffraction and cancellation can happen cuz of this which i hate the most.
I'm actually in the process of building spherical enclosures for my tweeters.

Personally, I would remove the rear all together... Gives you better imaging. A little over your budget, but I would suggest:

Components- Focal Access 165 A1 ($250-$300)
Amp- Focal Solid 4 ($250-$300)
Head Unit- ECLIPSE CD5000 ($150-$300)

This would be a good well rounded system. My 2c.

Its a Focal 33KX. MSRP is something like $1300, but I picked it up for a bit cheaper.

Definately pricey, but the best sounding sub I have ever heard. I almost went with an IDmax, but wanted better sound, not just bass...

Crutchfield,,,you get ALL the install stuff free,,,fitment is gaurenteed,,,,but you pay for it.....

Only buy alpine,,,the guy above that is selling one is a great Ipod controlling CD player..

If you dont need CD player the ida-x305s with the optional amp is the way to go.
