remote INOP ! please help

As stated, the remote does not work on my 2005 evo 8 gsr.
The remote has never worked since I bought the car, but now Im sick of not using it and want to fix it.

The dealer told me it had to do with the turbo timer, but when i completely disconnect the timer from the car, the remote still doesnt work.

The car chimes as if key was in the ignition, even with no key. ( just having the door open )

I tired searching but was unsuccessful.

Please help EVONATION

I dont know what is really going on, but i'll tell you I have a turbo timer on my car and remote is working successfully. Maybe not programmed for the car???

just to add, the dealer tried programming and still would not work. they told me it was aftermarket wiring and wanted 350.00 to start diagnosis.

the problem i think lies in the fact your car always thinks the key is in it so it naturally wont lock the key inside. google evo electrical diagram or even here on evom and find the wire and or sensor that is used for it, and make sure they're good to go. my best guess is the power wire for it is grounding out somewhere
