Sub wires?

I havent owned this car for to long so i just found these. My friend noticed a red wire just poking out of the carpet in the trunk. He says they are for subs which i believe however, there was also two other plugs that looked like AV cables. We both know nothing about a sound system so this is why im posting this. The forks are a little bent and the two AV looking cables says monster on them. Would like to know if i could reuse these wires for a sub, this would save me alot of time in the future.

Assuming the other ends are in decent condition able to be hooked up then you should be able to reuse them

The bent termination could easily be replaced if needed...

There is an item called a tone generator if you know someone who runs wire or cable you could borrow and follow their routing to help inspect and locate them.

^This

My educated guess

Red=power
Black=Ground
Blue=Remote turn on (not sure why such heavy gauge wire...)
Black monster cables are RCA's

That is everything you need to run an amp and potentially connect it to a sub.

One other thought. Make sure the red wire is not connected to the battery, or wrap some electric tape around its bare end.

Well check your battery to see if you have any other wires running to the positive terminal just to be sure. Usually there will be a fuse on the power wire as well.

The guy could have left it connected and just pulled the fuse...

I found that it is hooked up to the battery. Just dont think the fuse is in the black box thing.

did you open the black box? did you see a fuse in there? i would disconnect the positive from the battery anyway. you can easily connect it again when you get sub/amp down the road. i wouldnt leave any ends of those wires out in the open.

Well if you haven't noticed a spark yet when you touch it to ground the fuse is probably pulled. Just get a new inline fuse and rewire it when ready
