so i got this single din dvd player (Kenwood KVT 514) ready to be installed. everytihng has been connected but the parking wire detection wire. its the purple wire. im trying to figure out where it needs to be connected to for me to have dvd feature while in motion

Ground that wire and you should good to go. I had the kenwood KVT715 same thing.

i tried power, didnt work. i tried ground, it worked. lol

but im having dvd navigation problems. i would insert a disk, dvd menu comes up, but i can not press anything on screen to play the dvd. it is rejecting every touch i make on the screen.
did you have this problem?

 

Mine did that with a lot of dvd's, but not all of them. it was weird, like the format they are in possibly?

 

Yep I would try a different cd, sounds like a format issue.
