Need advice for good sound in the Evo

So I bought a JL 8W7 for my Evo before I did any research on what makes sense. I want use the Audio Integrations box so I will be getting a 12 inch sub. I was stuck on getting JL but I see good reviews for the Alpine Type R. I kinda want to keep everything the same manufacturer. That being said I'm looking for a good sub, amp to drive it, and an amp for the interior speakers (OEM for now).

Alpine SWR-1222D - the sub-woofer
Alpine MRP-M500 - the amp to drive the sub
Alpine PDX-4.100 - amp to run component speakers

Is this good, bad, meh!!!. I'm not partial to this, I can go another direction, cost and quality are determining factor. I don't want to spend a fortune but I also don't want cheap sounding.

In case you don't realize I'm a bit of a noob on sound systems so I'm looking for some educated opinions

Thinking about using the Alpine PDX-1.600 instead of the Alpine MRP-M500 for the sub.

Dammit! I just saw that audio integrations box last night (before I saw this thread)! I love that box, but I think I love this W7 more.. I'm just going to build a custom box and custom battery setup in the trunk. It should look good when its done.

I just installed the EXACT system you posted - Alpine Type-R woofer with a 500 watt mono amp with a 4 gauge wiring kit for everything. Got it in yesterday and let me tell you - this thing freakin ROCKS! I don't listen to rap/hip-hop at all but the wifey likes to here and there - but no matter if I'm listening to Classic Rock (Styx, Tom Petty etc...), My heavy metal/screamo (Asking Alexandria) or the lady throws on some rap/hip-hop stuff the system still hits very hard and sound incredibly good!

One thing to keep in mind is that the new version of the Type-R can handle 1500 watts! It can't get quite as low as the Type-X can (for those (c)rap songs) but the Type-R after being re-done in it's newer version can handle quite a lot!
