2005 evo VIII with SSL (infinity system) iPOD connector?

I don't really care about having it get charged or being able to see things on the head unit, all i really want is to be able to play the music on my iphone through my deck.

I do know that I don't want to deal with an FM Modulator though.

it sounds like: MZ607411EX sucks

are there any other options I should be looking at? or should i just simply be looking at getting a head unit that works with my iphone?

The issue is the SSL radio won't go into AUX mode without the in dash changer. I've been using a iTrip FM modulator for over a year and it works decent. I plan on getting a radio with ipod control later, but it works for now. I mounted mine to the back of the radio for better reception.

with that fm modulator, does it require you to set the channel or does it play through any channel when it is on?

if it plays through a channel, does it automatically turn off the antenna so that other stations don't interfere with it?

I changed it to International mode, so I was able to tune it to 87.7. In my area, nothing uses that channel, so I don't get interference. Normally, the modulators don't tune below 90.1 or so.

What makes it go into AUX mode with the dash changer? Does it send power or some sort of signal to the deck? If so which wire does it send this through?

No idea. I asked the same question in another radio thread without an answer. Older Nissan radios worked that way, so I assume the Mitsu radio is the same.
