Cannot decide between Alarms.
Cannot decide between Alarms.
I am in the market for a new alarm system. I am getting a really good deal for both the one way Clifford Intelliguard 770 which is brainless and the clifford 2way spread spectrum one mile range 570.4x both for 300 installed. The 770 has it all, glass break, proximity sensor, shock sensor and Blackjax. The 570.4x just comes with the shoch sensor and it about 150 more to add the glass break and proximity sensor. I am leaning more towards the 570.4x because its a two way and it has a 1 mile range (obviously in a desert). What do you guys suggest?
770 all the way! Hands down. Ive had one in every car I've owned (an itelliguard) saved my integra from being stolen. Don't really soley on the alarm though. Ad a kill switch as well you can use one of the aux ports on the alarm to activate the kill switch. Ask the installer to set up the aux port so that it activates upon arming but does not disactivate upon disarming. You will do a separate button combination on the remote to deactivate the kill switch. So even if someone has your remote your key and they know or disable your black jax they will still be stuck unless they know to Press the button combo on the remote to deactivate the kill switch.
Hope this helps. The 770 may not have 2 way communication, but it's a much better system

viper 5901 (non lcd screen) is a good price and EXCELLENT value of alarm.
dont get the 5902 (LCD screen) its a waste of a markup of $200.
in the future, you can even get a 5902 remote only and pair it with your existing 5901 respondent brain.

Definitely the Clifford Intelleguard 770, which is a real Clifford product. The 570.4x is actually a DEI product and rebadged Clifford when DEI bought out Clifford. Clifford components are more robust.
