battery being drained by something while off
battery being drained by something while off
So I just got my first evo about 3 weeks ago and the car is amazing and it ran perfect up until like a week ago were I would find my battery dead so I took it in to get the battery checked at autozone but I have a new optima battery and the alternator is fine as well, charging at 14.1. So then I toom it into a dealor and they said my positive cable was loose and that it was working fine and the next day after getting it back I found my car dead again. But I can't find out why? I don't know if its normal to have power to the sun roof and heater blower even tho the key isn't in the ignition and the automatic lights stopped being automatic.
Well I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if they could help me out? I would greatly appreciate your guys help!

No having power to anything with the key out means something is wrong. Sounds like your ignition switch is bad. But noone can tell you for sure unless its tested. Check under the dash for hackjobs.
rvaldez4 I sent you an inbox message. I am trying to figure the same thing out. I did a parasitic drain test and I found a draw from the air compressor but I've pulled that fuse for a day and the battery still died. I have a brand new DieHard so it's not the battery. Hopefully we can get some answers without paying the dealer our life savings!
Air compressor and heater fuses pulled and no more draw on the battery. You just have to keep messing with it until you find yours. Someone had me focusing on my aftermarket radio that's been in there since I got it in '04 and it has nothing to do with it. Just spend some time with your car and a digital multimeter.
