battery problems :(

Hey guys I need your expertise....
Car: 03 evo 8
Problem: Last year I got an optima red top battery. Battery was relocated to the trunk, prior to buy the car. The previous owner ran 4 gauge wire to the trunk, ehich cause my alternator to suffer. So now I have a new battery, new alternator, move the battery back to the engine bay (correct wire gauge size) but for some reason I keep blowing my 100 amp alternator fuse.....what could be causing this??

Do you still have the factory rubber piece that insulates the power wire? It sounds like the wire is making contact with the alternator and blowing the fuse

I do. Im charging the battery as we speak. I have a fuse between wire the connects the battery to the alternator (100amp) but for some reason it keeps blowing. Which means that means my alternator is outputting too much power....

Pretty sure you don't need a fuse on the feed wire from the alt to the battery. But since you do, what's the max amp rating on the alt you replaced? If it's a 130 amp alt of course a 100 amp fuse will blow at max operation. If that's not the case the wire may be grounding somewhere and blowing the fuse.

PROBLEM SOLVED! charged the battery at a professional battery shop. Battery was still in good condition. Foynd out the problem was the hardware that was used. Wiring from fuse to battery was the problem and the hawdware used to connect the other xables together wasnt too conductive. 👍👍👍

check the fuse rating on your alt, sounds like its producing too much power, hence why you're blowing fuses
