2014 touch screen radio onto 2010? HELP

Hey guys I recently bought a touch screen radio from a 2014 evo to put on my 2010 evo with the RF set up. My question is, is apparently when I plug the wires from my car into the new radio it powers up but there is no sound and all my guage lights come on such as check engine lights brake lights oil lights etc. and my speedo and tach wont work. So is there an adapter to make this work or can it be fixed by splicing some of the wires? any help would be appreciated it sucks not having a radio.

This should be plug and play. You should have 2 wiring harnesses that plug into the back of the radio. Mitsubishi installed all of the wiring in every car to work with either navi or non navi.

Ya that's what I thought but I called mitsubishi and the service adviser said the 2014 won't hook up to a 2010 apparently it has some kind of computer module or something like that which makes it different and won't operate the same

Your problem is with the CANbus. Mistu changed the wiring harness in 2011. You can do it but it would take a lot of splicing and soldering. Aftermarket is the best way to go, the only thing you will loose it the stock blue tooth steering wheel controls.

With the correct adaptor you can retain Steering wheel controls. A PAC SWI-RC is what you need. You will lose stock bluetooth, but most aftermarket BT systems are better anyway

Im sure you could repin the harness to get it kinda working, but there is a chance you will not retain full functionality. If you dont want to repin the hanrness you could buy two metra harnesses, the one that is meant to plug into the OEM connector for a 2010 and one that is meant to replace the factory connector in a 2011+. They will be color coded for the most part. Then if you want to put it back to stock its just a matter of unplugging stuff, no splicing required.
