Morimoto the brightest?? Anyone use them?

Looking to buy new D2S bulbs since my HID's on a 2003 Evo I just bought were in horrible shape. They had an aftermarket kit on it and were never sealed properly so I actually have dirt and water inside the 2003 HID housings. Im going to take them apart and re-finish them back to factory condition using the factory ballasts.

I came across this test showing the Morimoto bulbs brighter than Phillips and Osram.

Has anyone tried this brand of bulb?

I have 3Five 5000K in my car.

Honestly you're not going to notice much of a difference between any of the good bulbs at the same temperature. For the money, I don't think you can beat them.

Osram nightbreakers then osram cbi cool blue intense coming in second. The retrofit source did a test with lumens output and other tests.

They did a more indepth test posted on hid planet.com

Thanks guys. Just curious on those bulbs since the price isn't bad and I'm using the factory ballast. They don't need to be the best but I thought it was interesting they were brighter than other good brands. Anything is better than whats in there now. They have HORRIBLE lighting with the crappy aftermarket kit.

When I changed mine out in the X, the oem only had two years of use and I noticed a decent change with the CBI. You will see a change. You know I just thought of something I still have my oem bulbs. Would you be interested in buying them?

Cbi will look brighter due to the increased contrast with the 5000k bulb. The oem 4300 k is more of a warm white. It actually have more lumens than higher kelvin bulb. However the choice between cbi and nightbreakers would be do you want the warm white or a more blue white. I went with more lumens for my lumen addiction. Still can't beat my 88 scirocco 16v with 760 watts of forward lighting. That car was ridiculous on terms of output.
