I been looking into boost gauges for my evo 9 MR. I know theres digital and then mechanical. They both say they are very accurate but im sure they are not. I have the MR gauge but i want something different. Would like some input before i buy one and then run into problems

Electrical are generally more accurate and reliable than mechanical, if we are talking about quality parts. If you gave me the option of using a cheap POS electrical vs. a good quality mechanical gauge, give me the mechanical.

I was looking into AEM digital and DEFI racer gauge. Which electrical would you recommend?

I personally would never waste money with Defi. They are basically known to just be expensive. AEM gets my vote.

You can't really go wrong with either. I imagine you should be able to find the AEM a little cheaper, as long as you are looking at their boost display gauge and not their boost gauge/boost controller 2-in-1 thing.

The Defi Racer series is more modestly priced, especially when you factor in that you aren't required to buy the controller like with the BF. While i agree that Defi isn't the cheapest, it's a really high quality piece. Their parent company Nippon Seiki is the OEM for several large manufacturers. I've had several of their clusters over the years, never one problem.

now that i decided to go digital gauge. How difficult is it to install AEM or DEFI gauges. I have the MR boost gauge if that makes any difference.

Not hard to install. The hardest part probably is figuring out how you will run your wires cleanly and where you want to mount the gauge.
