Dash lights

Recently replaced my airbag via the recall and I do not remember the center portion of my instrument cluster (mileage area) being this dark.

Anyone seen this before, blown bulb?

yah right now the whole right side of my cluster is out, bulb just gave up i guess. The cluster is pretty easy to get out, only 2 screws and thats about it. You just change the bulbs from the back.

Oh yeah I know, I just can't remember if it was this dark before...does that look dark to you?

Not really, its kinda hard to tell from the pic though. Have you tried messing around with the dimmer to see if you can get more contrast between the two sides of the cluster at different intensities? If they are actually dimmer though then before it would likely be a voltage related issue and not the bulbs themselves. So looking for loose connections/grounds would probably be more called for then bulb replacement. Or one of the bulbs might have just come a little loose.

I had a bulb go out. Upon taking the cluster out and checking bulbs pretty soon none of the illumination bulbs were working. Since the dash light bulbs are always on the filaments get very fragile. Any bump or handling and they are gone. If the shop had the cluster out you probably need a bulb.

Strange, after my airbag recall the right side was out and milage was dim too. Pretty sure there is a bulb behind the odometer i found on STM.

at least yours is an easy fix. when i got my car back, it sounded like i had loose change in the dash. i guess they left something loose. eventually, i'll get it back down there.

My passenger door sounds like that, like if a coin fell to the bottom.
