Clicking / ticking noise when above 2900 rpm

Hi,

Couldn't find this one so here is my new thread.

The issue is happening in a Evo VIII RS.

Today I noticed a fast clicking noise coming from the driver's side fuse/relay panel area but only when over 2900rpm. As soon as the engine get below 2900rpm the noise stops. As soon as it reaches 2900rpm the noise starts again and won't go away unless I step on the clutch or let it get below 2900rpm.

I never heard this before.

Any idea on what to start looking?

Forgot to mention I have just installed a Grimmspeed EBCS. The noise could be it.

If it happens to be the EBCS I will be surprised. Never tought it could be so loud.

My Grimmspeed EBCS drove me nuts for a month before I figured out what it was. I haven't gotten around to putting a piece of materiel behind it to quiet it down.

The noise it makes in fact helped me understand the correct way to tune the boost control on the stock ECU.

It is so loud that I can hear it even while cruising. It makes no sense to have it cycling on situations where it is not controling the boost limit.

Instead of "tuning" the maximum duty cycle table I will work on the desired load, load limit and error correction tables.

This happened to my friend's car. Turns out it was a loose bracket bolt that would vibrate above 2500 rpm, not sure if that helps or not.
