Haunted Evo? odometer, WB, oil pressure gauge..

When the car is warming up, the oil pressure gauges bounces up and down a bit, until it settles at 25psi, once warm. After that, it's dead steady during all other readings.

My WB gauge gets brighter at 4k RPM, when full throttle only. I can roll on the throttle to 5k+, nothing. Full throttle to 3500RPM, nothing. Only full throttle and 4k. When it gets brighter, it's the same as brightness as when i turn off the lights (IIRC, the Innovate WB has a dimming feature, or maybe I just have wired that way; It's been a number of years).

My odometer display is rather dim at times, then randomly gets bright again and will stay that way until it decides not to.

I have a mini battery that is pretty much new, as is the OEM alternator.

Can an of these things be part of the same problem?

It sounds like the voltage regulator in the alternator is acting up, but didn't you recently change that? It looks like you have a Cali car, so I don't think water in the electrical would be a potential issue. There is definitely a random voltage rise somewhere.

I wouldn't think it's the battery. I run a crazy small battery (Enersys 16EP, smaller than a PC680) and don't have any electrical issues.

How are all the connections at the alternator?

Have you relocated the battery?

To me it sounds like you're having electricals surges of some sort.

Alternator is a brand new OEM part. I put it in less than a year ago and have put a few hundred miles on it.

I honestly haven't checked the connections on the alternator... I usually forget the simplest things

I'll check right now.

If that alternator is dying, I will be PISSED.

Is the alternator externally regulated on an evo? I was under the impression that anything younger than me is pretty much all internally regulated.

As far as I know it's internally regulated

Internally, yes.

I'm headed out to check the connections on the alternator right... about... now...

connections are fine. Maybe I just have a random, bad wire somewhere. A bad ground. The car is on a tender at all times because I've already lost a battery and alternator once. I always assumed the battery went bad and overworked the alternator.
I hate electrical crap
