Awesome, thanks - just what I needed to know. Ok then, it appears the dashboards are fundamentally different in the first place at this section. There is probably some custom fabrication required if I needed to securely mount my 7 inch screen.

Keep in mind that I am RHD/JDM, whilst the Taiwanese LHD examples such as the beige dashboard above are LHD export market versions, which is slightly more relevant to you. Nevertheless the substructure (metal brackets) seem to be the same.

Here is what I cut out. Only part missing in this pic is the hvac duct/tubing.

Panel arrived. It was not in as good shape as I expected. I new couple of tabs where broken that hold the air vents, but he said “it wasnt a big deal” . But after arriving i see that it is a “big deal” because wont hold the driver side vent in place. Also he said it was black but the panel was a very dark “maroon” color with wood grain backing. So I ended up painting it black with spray can.

I lost the capability to close/block the vent because of lack of space for how I modified the hvac tubing in the back. But I can still change direction or point it up/down. Below are pics of what it looks like and to get an idea of what I did in the backend.

Installed gauges. The back peice I made from a flimsy plastic and carbon wrapped it. It's taped using double sided adhesive tape. It will do for now.

Just got my panel also.

Just got the recall on passenger airbag, once i bring my car in I plan on removing the dash and putting a 7" screen on top and gauges in the middle.
The guy said he may sell the ac vent reroute too. so i'm waiting on him for price. Too bad the usdm evo never had this nice design from the get go

Will try and paint it. And maybe add stock ac control in the bottom bezel.

Yep, you got the right bezel for the job. You could probably just plasti-dip the bezel for a better match, but it would be a pain to get the button to match while retaining the back-lit hazard triangle logo. Do check if your existing hazard light socket will match the new one that you got. I had to modify mine.

That's actually a pretty good idea, even Fast-and-Furious-cool how the second screen appears on demand, but reviews don't all seem to be enthused about it. Plus its Android-only compatibility means I don't get to play with my iOS device.

So I gone ahead and got my garage to do the nasty work. Instead of showing the process, I shall cut to the chase - here is the outcome.

The upper screen is an aftermarket 7 inch screen intended for Taiwanese Lancers. It displays output from my HKS Camp 2 digital gauge system, in addition to OBD parameters it monitors boost, oil pressure and oil temperatures.
