yup that bottom pic is the same pin I used on my 8. So looks like it's the wrong pin.
Success! Last week I spoke to Matt at Spoolinup, and he confirmed that they sent me the wrong pins. He shipped the correct pins to me right away, and I just installed one with no issues. It snapped right into place with the orange clip popped out of the way
