It seems there are alot of vendors who run into hiccups with getting things and never feel they should tell the customer it will take longer than originally quoted. I've ordered alot of stuff from different vendors on here and there is really only one or two I will deal with again. I can deal with things not getting here on time(not happy about it but, can deal) as long as I'm kept up to date with whats going on. Customer service is king.
I think the best thing to do so you don't run into some problems with vendors, is to call them up to see if they have the parts in stock. If not, then go to another vendor, so you won't run into aggrevations. That's what I do and so far had no problems with any of them. If one vendor sell a product for example $500 and don't have it in stock but another has it in stock for 10-15 bucks more. I rather pay the extra to have it now then go through the crap of calling to see if they have it yet.
naucrx,
Thanks for posting that pic. Looks nice! What other exhaust mods do you have, if any? (ie> downpipe, test pipe...)
How happy are you with the sound?
Couldn't agree with you more.

Yep, I agree that customer service is king too. I like that quote.
As for calling a vendor up and asking about having parts in stock, sometimes that is impossible when they custom make your order, such as an RnR exhaust. At that point, you just have to trust what they tell you when it comes to how long it'll take. Otherwise, you're right, calling ahead or sending an email is a great idea. Every other part I've purchased from many different online vendors has shipped within 1-2 days and not had any problems.
Just got to be careful about those estimates from vendors that custom fabricate things. Its quite possible they'll tell you it will only take a short period of time just so that you don't go somewhere else and pay that extra $15-20. They are wise to our ways.

I'm just wondering if this is a normal wait time for an exhaust? I thought those things were fairly common, so ordering one wouldn't really make me wait that long. I waited almost 2 months just to get some MR taillights, but I knew when I ordered those that they were on backorder pretty much every where that had them listed.....The GReddy exhaust I bought for my last car arrived 5 days after I ordered it. Just curious.
Well, I found out from the dealer that HKS shipped out some stuff, just not my exhaust that I ordered forever ago.
I'm trying to decide on whether I should let my order for the HKS Carbon Ti ride and just wait it out, or if I cancel this order and get another exhaust. I really like the look of the HKS, and they make good power. Are there any suggestions to alternatives to the HKS? I'm thinking about the Invidia G200 Ti, but I don't really know anything about Invidia. How reputable are they?
Sorry so wordy, and thanks for any help....

I've also got a 3" Helix downpipe and 3" Ultimate Racing Cat delete.
IMO, the exhaust sounds great with my downpipe/testpipe combo. It has a very low tone, and with the test pipe it sounds pretty fierce (for a 4cyl) at WOT. It drones a little bit on the highway, but I don't mind it. The sound is very deep, and not 'tinny' sounding like you might hear from a Honda. It's also not so loud that you can't hear someone talking inside the car with the windows down. With just the exhaust installed, it was barely louder than stock. I have never used the silencer, but I would imagine that it would greatly help the noise if it's too loud for your taste.
One downer with the JIC exhaust is the neck down on the Catalytic converter side. (I think the HKS is the same way, although I haven't seen it for myself.) I had the neck down section of my exhaust cut out and a 3" section welded in so that I have a full 3" from the o2 housing back. It only cost me 40 bucks to have it done. Here's a thread I started after I had it done if you want to check it out: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=90972
Awesome man, thanks for your input....
