There is a very informative article in the last issue of Modified Mag concerning Water Injection. Seems the AMS team installed water injection on thier beast. I have seen the benefit of water and aclohol injection on boosted drag cars in the past and I have never heard a bad report. It seems that this could be beneficial at any tune level. I know there has to be a little hp loss due to injecting an inert liquid into the cylinder, but the cooling effect seems to vastly outweigh the losses.

Id like to hear from some EVO owners running water injection. Also, don't some of the Piggyback ECUs have a WI controller on board? I'm curious if the injection unit could be told to increase water pressure when knock is sensed.

Looks like the AMS team used the stock IC spray resevoir for the WI tank...Nice!

I would like to hear differing opinions also...If you are running some serious whp and NOT using water injection, why?

I will be contacting the supplier for the AMS EVO tomorrow ( www.alkycontrol.com ) to hear thier sales pitch about it. Ill post what info I squeeze from them.

check out smcenterprises.com they made an alcohol injection kit for the scoobie, they have been using alcohol injection on the buick grand nationals for ages now with increadible results, there is a guy on the buick boards, turbobuick.com (excellent bbs) called razor who sells kits that will work with the evo, i also know steve from SMC is coming out with a kit for the evolution 8

The system is very similar to what thousands of Grand National guys have been running for years. I have personally had it on 3 of my turbo cars with excellent long term results. All told, the kit costs less than $200 in parts and works very well.
