Get a ECU reflash and you'll get it all back.

I had that issue when i installed hmm somthing. ANyway it was the ECU going into limp mode. But the black smoke kind of worries me.

Take the BOV out and put the factory DV back in, reset the computer see if that helps. The black smoke is probably from running rich when the BOV dumps all that air to atmosphere. Your plugs might be fouled from the rich condition as well. Definately get the ECU flashed as well.

well..out of ur mods only your exhaust is helping you, the rest are just for decoration. did you ever think that maybe the srt was modded? there's one around here with a turbo upgrade, that thing's pretty quick and would maul even a modded evo on the freeway.

get a boost guage and see if you're boosting what you should be..thats one of the best places to start.

speaking of black smoke and BOVs and such... anyone here ever read this article on AutoSpeed?

http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_2181/article.html

wonder if that would work for those evo owners that really want a vta bov

Black smoke is fine. It just means your car is running on the rich side.

If the intercooler pipe came off you car would die. Unless you have a MAP conversion then it would still run. But with the stock MAF sensor it would just die and not want to run.

And to the comment about the RICH black smoke thing there is allot more then just running rich that causes black smoke.

For one your plugs are fouled... Revving up should never be a problem... Your probably throwing a CEL for not having a CAT. You should also always check for boost leaks!

after i got my car back from mitsu last week (rebuilt the tranny for the second time) they left all the intake clamps loose and 1 blew off, yea it wont run without it deff.!!! but no that neon still had dealer tags on it, some old guy was driving it, i compared a old video i made for somebody on the forums showing how my bov doesnt affect the way it drives and dang the way it revs up is like {omg} nothing like now! im hopping that dynoflash might work

Actually it does effect the revving. When the ECU goes into major limp mode you wont be able to rev past 5000rpms. Personall experience!

VTA w/ your BOV will cause some cars to run like poo. Get the car tuned. Also....SRT-4's are fast...it is not like racing a Honda..they put just about the same power to the ground as an Evo. +/- 230 whp for the 2004+ models.
