What's the benefit of propane over water/methanol? I think water/methanol does about the same thing without the risk of a bomb in the trunk, no? (honestly asking, as I don't know about it)

I would only run water/methanol

I will probably go with this kit in the future as he has been using it for a while now with great results on his Supra with the AEM EMS.

It is a progressive or a switched system and is not limited by a 500cc flow valve like the Aquamist kit is and by the pics of the Works kit it uses the same valve as the Aquamist kit, actually looks like the Aquamist 2d kit to be honest.

When I talked to Martin @ AMS and looking at the Buschur kit, they both seem to be leaning towards using the www.alkycontrol.com kit thats going to use a controller to pulse the pump based on a GM Map sensor, so as boost goes up injection goes up. Also, this kit is not limited to a 500cc flow valve it has a 100+ psi pump like Derek's kit. Very nice kit IMO, but I want to get rid of multiple devices in the cockpit and let the EMS handle the duties with plenty of failsafes built in to add fuel and retard timing when the pump is not under pressure.

Your stock gas tank is more of a "bomb" than a DOT approved propane tank. These things are over-engineered. There designed for the idiot that throws his BBQ tank is his trunk, drives like an idiot and gets rear-ended.
Try to stick a screwdriver in a propane tank, then try the same on any car's fuel tank.
As far as advantages, I listed them on my post. You can alos run propane AND WI for the ultimate knock control.
Think about it, the cooling of WI and the increased octane from propane. You can crank the boost, advance your timing and lean out to 12.5:1 without ANY detonation!

You can do that just with water, 50/50 water and meth, or 100% meth.

These potential problems have all been engineered for with the WORKS kit. If a blockage occurs or the level drops below a safe margin, the failsafes kick in and drops your boost level. Not only would you notice this by feel, but the control box would indicate there is a clog, low fluid level, etc...

I can't comment on how long the reservoir would take to "empty" as this would vary by driver/driving condition. We do have some track time scheduled soon and look forward to testing this aspect there.

i`m going to tune WI with MOTEC.
Jamie is it difficult?
There will be 2 maps in MOTEC.
question is:Is it possible to switch on/off WI?
Maps is switching by tumbler(1-2).
1 map -95 octane
2 map -95octane with WI

Is it possible?

I think WI is one of the best upgrades you can do. Much better than fooling with an aftermarket intercooler. If done right you should have the effect of running race gas from 92 octane. Without harming the motor.

The water injection kit is the best thing ever happend to turbo charged cars

: Looking to reduce the Intake Air Temperature to the engine and provide some measure of safety to the engine when running with an aftermarket chip producing higher than normal boost levels.

I have done a lot of research on the effects of water injection on a forced induction engine, and have been able to come to the conclusion that it is in my opinion, one of the best modifications for a turbo car with increased boost levels. All to many modifications performed in the search for more power, can lead to stressful situations on the engine, and of these raising boost pressure is the most common and easiest way to increase engine output. However, when the boost pressure is raised, so is the heat of the charge air and the in cylinder pressure, which is a bad combination. To combat this more fuel must be added, but when you reach a point where not even a rich mixture of 12/1 is sufficient to stop detonation, you will be losing power by the addition of more fuel. This is where water injection really pays off, not only in it's ability to safely allow boost increases, but to actually benefit the engine and turbo. The reason for this is that water possesses a very high amount of latent heat, which makes it ideal for cooling the combustion process. Water will improve the knock resistance of an engine, while also cooling the exhaust gases, thus allowing higher boost pressures, while at the same time reducing thermal stress on the turbine section. Water will also help prevent the build up of carbon deposits, and can protect the valves and valve seats from getting burnt, pitted or distorted.

It works. Plain and simple

Am I correct in assuming that the reason that water in your gas is bad, is because water doesn't mix with gas and you get 100% water being injected all at once?

well you are not injecting the water through the gas injectors. you are injecting the water through the air intake causing air temp to drop. instead of using gas to cool down your piston head and then running rich like a pig you can use water

Thanks, heh, I was thinking with my fingers about why water in your gas tank would be bad, but injecting water as a mist wouldn't. The car guys I hung out with in my childhood erroneously told me that the reason you don't want water in your gas tank is because water would expand so much upon combustion of the gas that it would blow the head off.

Anyway, my ADD train of thought was along the lines of wondering whether or not there's a way to have methanol/water be injected into the cylinders pre-mixed with gasoline by means of a Y in the fuel line. Thought it might simplify things, but on second thought it might complicate them...

Will my EMS be able to run a WI kit with speed density?
